All About Me
Kasia Saturna, a passionate cellist and dedicated teacher
Playing cello has been my life since I was eight years old. I began taking lessons when I was eight years old. My parents soon enrolled me in a special music school in my home city of Szczecin, Poland until it was time to go to university. I moved to Gdansk and obtained my Master of Music from the Gdansk Academy of Music. Along the way I took master class lessons in Weimar, Germany to further enhance my skills.
After graduation I soon found employment with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in my home town and enjoyed being the principal cellist for the next 15 years.
Throughout my career I have been teaching and sharing my passion for the cello with my students. I like working with students to help them become skillful musicians. I love to share their enjoyment as they are able to create the music of their dreams.

My Approach to Lessons
Anybody can learn to play the cello and find success in their studies, regardless of their background or prior musical experience. I strive to make cello lessons enjoyable and effective for all my students. New students of all ages (4+) and skill levels are always welcome!
With my background in cello performance, I enjoy building upon the existing diverse musical interests of my students. I currently work with many students in Edmonton, including working professionals, parents, elementary and high school students and retirees. Everybody takes a different path while learning to play the cello, and I collaborate with each student to determine a style of lessons that compliments their goals, strengths and learning style. Â
I always encourage my students to take their playing beyond the basic playing of correct notes and rhythms. Understanding cello techniques and musicality provides space for students to develop as musicians and begin a process of long-term learning and growth. By emphasizing efficient and thoughtful practicing techniques, even the busiest students are able to enjoy their cello studies.
Cello Lessons
I tailor lessons in collaboration with my students. I offer lessons for 30, 45 and 60 minutes. Some of my students enjoy participating in group lessons in addition to their individual lessons.
