New students usually rent a cello when they first start learning. There are a few places to rent in Edmonton, including P J Tan Violin Shop, Myhre's Music and Bella Music. Students also need to buy cello rosin for their bows.
Renting is a great option for younger students as the cello must suit their height and skill level. The cello may need to be upgraded to larger models over time.
